Palazzolo: the house for agritourism

Palazzolo is an ideal house for family holidays due to various reasons. It is relatively easy to reach different locations that are even a bit further from Palazzolo. Most of the important centres of art of Central Italy are within a day journey and one can also reach some natural parks of Central Italy as well within a day journey.

Country side

To those who like open country space Palazzolo offers splendid views towards the Cetona Mountain and the Chiana Valley. The wide open yard has a swimming-pool (6m x 12m) with both parasols and gazebos giving shade from the sun during hot summer months. From the yard's terrace opens a splendid view over the valley and you have a barbecue at your disposal. It is also possible to have a walk inside the farm's vineyards and consequently to have a peaceful and relaxing green holiday.

Culture and art

Main cultural centres

For those who prefer culture and art, Palazzolo, situated between Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio, is close to many cultural centres like Assisi, Rome, Florence, Pisa, Perugia, Orvieto to name a few, while the Central Italy's largest lake, Trasimeno, surrounded by many historical centres is only ca. 25 km far away.

It is relatively easy to reach these localities from Palazzolo, due to its closeness to main arteries of communication such as the A1 motorway, i.e. Autostrada del Sole, that is about 15 km from Palazzolo, and the Milano-Rome railway (Palazzolo is seven kilometres from the railway station of Chiusi-Chianciano Terme on the line from Rome to Florence).

Minor cultural centres

Palazzolo is an optimal base for daily excursions to the many important and well-known centres since its location consents a return during the evening to the calm of the country-side. Besides the well-known tourism centres Palazzolo also allows to enjoy the so called minor tourism as from there it is possible to visit beautiful but less known localities of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio like Cetona, Cortona, Salci, Panicale, Radicofani, Pienza and Bolsena in addition to the local centre Città della Pieve, the birth place of Pietro Vannucci, called Il Perugino.

Landscapes and nature

For those who prefer nature and beautiful landscapes Palazzolo represents a good place of departure for daily excursions, since from Palazzolo it is possible to reach many interesting natural sites in Tuscany (e.g. Mount Amiata), Umbria and Marche (e.g. the Sibillini mountains).

Those who like out of season tourism, in order to avoid large crowds or the extreme summer heat, may find Palazzolo as an ideal solution as its spacious and cosy interior does not create problems of staying inside if the weather is not favourable. One of the main reasons for the cosiness of the stay is the pavement heating system, that allows to control individually the temperature on every single room. Besides, the museums and the cities of art in the surroundings of Palazzolo guarantee an interesting stay even during the months of low season.
